Some news from Thaurorod...

Hello guys and gals!
I thought I write something about the band's current status so.. With the album we now have recorded all female backing vocals and some violin.. So basically we still have some recordings to do with our male backround vocalist, some more violin, speaks and some midi keyboard's converting into wave files.. but that's about it!
At the moment Teecee is mixing one of our complete song "Warrior's Heart" with all the material recorded there.. I think we can release this unmastered song at MySpace as a preview of the album in maybe two weeks..
Also we have released the coverart of the album which I think looks absolutely gorgeous! Give us a word of it if you like! The guy behind this great cover is Jan Yrlund from Darkgrove(www.darkgrove.net).
Now the band is taking some time to rehears for the live shows.. the first show for this year we play in Dante's Highlight, Helsinki on 19th September and a week from there we tour in Germany playing three shows(Berlin, Neuss, Hamburg)!
After we come back from Germany Joonas and Emil who also play in a band called Amberian Dawn goes to tour warming up for Epica. This tour is from 14th October to 7th November. Anyway.. this is why our recordings continues not earlier than in November!
Okay then ..have a nice Autumn and hope to talk with you more on our upcoming shows!!!

Mixing of the album is on!
10th July 2009
The album is being mixed at E-Major Studios by Tero Kinnunen and we already listened to some unfinished drums he had mixed and WOW! they sounded so great!!!
So now Tero has Pro Tools projects that consists the drums, bass, both rhythm guitars and the main vocal track.. He works with them and meanwhile we record some more material and bring them to him later.
We have now both Emppus and Lasse's solos recorded ..some unbelievable fuckin guitar playing! Also there are nearly all lead guitars recorded. Keyboards were earlier recorded in MIDI and now we are just selecting the sounds from Emmi's Motif and turning MIDI's into WAV tracks. Also all Markku's vocals are now in.
It seems that we may start recording the guest musicians for the album next week!
I'll try to write some updates also to studio diary from the remaining guitar recordings etc..
As you might have noticed we also confirmed a show in Dante's Highlight on 19th September. There should be more confirmed shows soon .. both in Finland and in Germany but we'll see..
Our graphic designer for the album is Jan Yrlund (Darkgrove). He made an outstanding cover art for the album and now he is finishing the album cover. We will release that as soon as possible!
Okay so it seems -Upon Haunted Battlefields- is complete in about one month! And it truly seems it will be one of the greatest melodic metal albums fuckin ever released!!!

It’s been a while since our last update..
At this point our all main vocals are recorded and also Emppu’s rhythm guitars are in. So we still have some work in recording Lasse’s rhythm guitars, all the lead guitars and solos, some keyboard melodies and all piano parts.. then we can start with some background vocals, growls, speaks, cellos, violins, flutes..
Our background vocalists will be like earlier a female voice Johanna Lesonen, and surprise surprise.. our previous vocalist Vladimir Lumi comes to do some male backing vocals to our album. There may be some more backing vocalists but we’ll see about that later!
The album will be mixed by Tero Kinnunen(Nightwish, Amorphis) at the beginning of July. So before that we are really kept busy by all the remaining recordings.
